A Cosy Weekend at Canberra’s East Hotel

Sometimes there is nothing better than a staycation. No need to stress about leaving something at home, not having a car to drive around, and not needing to miss those creature comforts of your own city.

Jack and I were lucky enough to spend a couple of nights in the 1 Bedroom Luxe Apartment at Canberra’s East Hotel. Nestled nicely between Manuka and Kingston, this vibrant hub is home to some of Canberra’s best foodie finds.

Agostini’s Italian

A tropical green room, leopard print booths, or dining with a view of the kitchen. I feel like Agostini’s is the kind of place you can return to 100 times and have a different dining experience each time you visit.

The Insalada Di Pesca alongside a Limoncello Spritzer – Delizioso!

Our waitress had outstanding knowledge of the menu and restaurant and made some great recommendations that we were not disappointed with.

We started with the Insalada Di Pesca, which we shared, before I fell in love with the Papperdelle Al Ragu d’Agnello and Jack with his prawn topped Gamberetti Pizza. We weren’t done yet, for dessert I had the Torte Al Cioccolatto (which I hear is gluten free, but sure doesn’t taste it) and Jack enjoyed two scoops of Gelati in a waffle cone.

I’ll dream of you…

Muse Canberra

A little piece of Melbourne’s cafe scene right here in Canberra. Whether your style is basics done-well or fancy fine dining, Muse’s cosy, yet modern space, caters for all.

Morning goals

We tucked into a build-your-own brekkie with scrambled eggs alongside grilled tomato and thick cut bacon, the fried egg and bacon roll, a side of fruit salad and a freshly squeezed orange, apple, pineapple and carrot juice.

After you’ve finished your meal, pop down to the attached bookstore to explore their wide range of books.

So many covers to judge a book by

Joe’s Bar

Arguably one of Canberra’s most ‘gramable bars, Joe’s luxe textures and killer cocktail menu give this venue a vintage glamour vibe that hits all the right notes.

Whether you’re popping in for a drink before dinner, or filling up on their bar menu, you might want to keep an eye on the clock as it’s easy to lose track of time on the comfy couches.

If you’re planning a trip to Canberra, or looking for a home-away-from-home for the weekend, make sure to look East!
